Prizes and Judging
A total of ten thousand dollars in prize money will be awarded by Spark Capital (http://www.sparkcapital.com/), a Boston-based venture capital firm. The judging panel will consist of representatives from Spark Capital. A patient advocate and a clinical innovator may also be part of the judging panel.
A grand prize of five thousand dollars will be awarded to the project that best exemplifies the vision of the event. The project should have the potential to engage individuals as active participants in their care in a way that will improve the quality, cost-effectiveness, and experience of healthcare. In addition, the project should make a contribution to the community by sharing some of the core technical achievements that make it work. Of course an emphasis will be placed not just on the innovative ideas behind the project but on how much is accomplished during the event. More details about the judging criteria will be described here as they are defined.
A second prize of three thousand dollars and a third prize of two thousand dollars will be awarded based on the same judging criteria.
